This compilation features T&E Soft's original Hydlide trilogy of '80s action-RPGs. Both the '84 original and Hydlide 3 (aka Super Hydlide) have been remade for Windows users, with new graphics, audio, and quality-of-life additions. These remakes are available via the Arrange Mode option for each game, except Hydlide 2 which lacks said upgrades. Beyond the games themselves, there's a detailed manual with both hints and full answers for tricky puzzles. You can also enjoy the "Hydlide Museum", an included website containing developer commentary, concept art, and other goodies detailing the series' history.

Control a clown to pull in and throw back balloons hurled from the top of the screen. If you line up three or more balloons of the same color in a vertical row, they will burst. If you're not quick enough, the balloons will squash the clown and the game is over. Once you've got the hang of bursting balloons, you'll need to master combos and chains. The third Magical Drop game, first released in 1997, was also developed for the Neo Geo. This games adds representatives for the remaining Tarot Major Arcana, as well as introducing a "daughter" Strength character that more closely resembles the traditional depiction of Strength. The game adds a third button, which allows players to add rows to their field at any time. Additionally, attacks now sends lines to the opponent in non-even rows that vary by character. Hirameki mode is replaced by Adventure Mode, which is a board game that challenges players to reach Empress before CPU-controlled rivals. The English versions of Magical Drop III remove the hardest difficulty setting in Vs. CPU Mode and rival opponents in Adventure Mode.

Characters can change between using the character's weapon or fight hand-to-hand during the middle of combat. Like the Art of Fighting series, Ninja Master's features a super meter.

Magical Drop is played in a style and gameplay similar to Compile's (now Sega's) Puyo Puyo and Taito's Puzzle Bobble franchises; a "stack" of random colored bubbles descend from the top, and a player is defeated when a bubble hits the bottom. Bubbles can be picked up and dropped by the player's "clown" at the bottom, and are destroyed when three or more of the same color are put together on a single column. "Chains" are formed either when a single drop caused a chain reaction, or when more than one group of bubbles is destroyed in quick succession. The game is normally played with two players (one may be a computer opponent), and chains cause the opponent's stack to descend faster. There are 24 characters, all but the Black Pierrot being named after a tarot card (although the Strength card has been represented by two characters throughout the series). Different characters have different attack patterns. The columns of the opponent's stack will descend at different rates relative to each other depending on the character chosen. This causes a disjunction of colors that may make it more difficult for the other player to clear their stack. For example, with the character Devil, all the columns will descend at the same rate, whereas with Sun, the middle columns will descend faster than the others.

Karnov's Revenge, also known as "Fighter's History Dynamite" in Japan, is a 1994 arcade fighting game, and the followup to Fighter's History. All returning characters have new moves, and Clown and Karnov are now playable characters while newcomers Zazie and Yungmie were introduced. The Super Famicom game "Fighter's History: Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!" is heavily based on Dynamite, and is believed to have been meant as a port. Dynamite itself would be ported to the Sega Saturn, and Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!! was even thrown in as a bonus.

The second installment in the AoF series added the "rage gauge"; similar to the "spirit system" of its predecessor, it limited the use and effectiveness of special attacks. The game's story is set a year after the original. Geese Howard, a rising star in South Town's criminal underworld, calls fighters to the city for a new tournament, "The King of Fighters." Howard was the final boss and series villain of SNK's other fighting game franchise Fatal Fury (though he is a secret boss in this game), whose story took place over a decade after the events of Art of Fighting. Art of Fighting 2 was the only time Yuri Sakazaki was a playable character in the series. It also marked the only time that she donned her trademark outfit, which was made famous in The King of Fighters series. This game also marks the debut of Takuma Sakazaki without his Mr. Karate persona, as well as Eiji Kisaragi, who both appear in the King of Fighters series. Ryuhaku Todo, the first boss in the original AOF, is the only character dropped; all characters are playable from the beginning. The final boss is always Mr. Big, though as mentioned earlier, an extra match will be played against Geese Howard if the player unlocks him through good performance. This game is also notorious for its difficulty, with it being referred in many fighting circles as having some of the toughest opponent AI in a fighting game.

Spinmaster is a platform/beat 'em up arcade game developed and released by Data East in 1993. The story follows the main character Johnny and his sidekick Tom as they battle their way through treasure-seeking, mad scientist, Dr. De Playne's henchmen in a quest to save Johnny's girlfriend Mary and get their hands on a hidden treasure. Both playable characters are armed with yo-yos but can also upgrade to other weapons (such as throwing stars, icicle daggers and guided missiles) to defeat all enemies and help them open treasure chests.

Players choose from among three ninjas - Joe, descended from the Koga ninja; Rayar, a woman who has learned the ways of the Iga ninja; and Ryu, descendant of the famous ninja Fuma Kotaro - as they pursue the merchant of death known as Spider, who plans to use a time machine to bring havoc to the world. The battle spans seven time periods, including the Stone Age, the Egyptian era and the Japanese Civil War era.

Players choose from a roster of martial artists and compete in one-on-one battles using punches, kicks, and special moves. The game introduced a two-plane fighting system that allows characters to move between foreground and background lanes. Its story follows Terry Bogard and his allies as they challenge the crime lord Geese Howard.

Different from real baseball and other baseball video games, this game consists of both male and female characters, as well as robots. All three types of players have the same basic abilities and vary only on their personal strengths. In many cases, human players are better than their robot counterparts. One major difference between the human and robot characters is that the robot characters can blow up (or lose all their power) if they are worked too hard during a game. That can happen if you constantly make them dive for a ball, run extra bases, or even if they get hit by a pitch. Under no stress whatsoever, some robots, especially pitchers, will naturally run out of power as the game progresses. When this happens, they will lose all their abilities and be useless, both offensively and defensively. When that occurs, you can either power them up or replace them with another person on the roster. Human players do not blow up, but human pitchers can tire out. When they are tired, they will pant heavily and throw the ball very slowly. This can be remedied by either an upgrade or, as in real baseball, switching to a relief pitcher.

Lord Monarch is a real-time strategy war game by Nihon Falcom. The game is considered to be the seventh installment in the Dragon Slayer series. It was originally released in 1991 for the NEC PC-9801, and was later ported with enhanced theme swapping in 1992 to the Super Famicom, and then in 1994 to the Sega Mega Drive as "Lord Monarch: Tokoton Sentou Densetsu". During 1997, Lord Monarch was remade for Windows as "Lord Monarch Online" and released for free in both Japanese, and for the first time, English.

The planet Raguy was once a beautiful place, until the evil Daruma tribe invaded, bringing pollution that corrupted the land. You, as Blue, are a specialist of the Leaf Dump, and you love Princess Fa of the Raguy family. Unfortunately, Princess Fa has fallen sick from the pollution. It's your job to save your princess in Blue's Journey, a 2D side-scrolling platformer with RPG elements. Go through stages jumping on platforms and avoiding traps, while dealing with a multitude of bad guys, with a special bad guy boss at the end of every level to defeat with special means. To help with this, Blue can use a leaf attack and shrink. The leaf attack, only used when Blue is full sized, lets Blue slam a leaf that stuns any enemies he hits. Blue can also pick up power-ups for a more devastating leaf attack, or change his attack entirely. When the enemies are stunned, Blue can pick them up and throw them across the screen to dispose of more baddies. Shrunken down Blue can't use his attacking power, but he can fit into small crevasses and crannies not normally accessible. Of course, Blue can also dispatch enemies by jumping on them. Since Raguy's economy is flower based, Blue can collect flowers to buy things at special huts. But Blue must take care not to fall into traps or bottomless pits, which cause instant death. Being hit by bad guys or their shots is just as bad. Blue starts the game with two hearts, losing one when he gets whacked by a bad guy. When his heart count goes to zero, Blue dies. Play the game alone (as Blue), or with your friend (as a green Blue) for two-player simultaneous fun.

Devil's Crush (known as Devil Crash in Japan) is a pinball video game developed by NAXAT Soft for the TurboGrafx-16 and released in 1990. The second installment in the Crush Pinball series after Alien Crush, the game has an eerie occult theme with skulls, skeletons, and demons. It was later followed by Jaki Crush and Alien Crush Returns. The game was ported to the Sega Mega Drive, retitled Dragon's Fury (Devil Crash MD in Japan) which was developed by Technosoft. Devil's Crush was later released on the Wii's Virtual Console, with the European release reverting to its original title; however, the pentagram symbols were removed and replaced with 8-sided star.

Billed as a "Magical Voice Role Playing Game", Madou Monogatari 1-2-3 combines diverse, colorful monster design with a then-unusual amount of voice work. The game is also notable for a near-complete lack of numerical stats, instead portraying health, damage, and magic capacity using text cues and Arle's face portrait.

The title says 3 because Kiss of Murder is a side story and expansion to Manhattan Requiem, so this is the third original title. This incident involves the shooting death of Walter Edwards, who was the police chief of Liberty Town, where J.B. Harold works. The setting is Washington D.C., where J.B. Harold also lost his girlfriend. New elements such as tailing and requests for character investigations have been added.

In this game players take the role of Ena, a robot which has to collect goods that are dropped from the sky with parachutes. The robot has a limited fuel supply that decreases with time and every time the robot takes damage from the enemies. The fuel supply can be replenished by saving humans that were transformed into killer cyborgs. The robot can only shoot diagonally after jumping and the location of the enemies, as well as the goods are indicated on a small map in the bottom. To complete each level, players need to collect a set amount of goods indicated at the top-right part of the screen.
