Who We Are
What VGDB is
VGDB is a community-driven video game database, built by Paul Buttle in the UK. It's been in Alpha since 30 March 2026 — things work, but things will also change.
Your Account
Signing up
One account per person, be honest about who you are, keep your password to yourself, and don't share the account with anyone else. You can close your account any time from account settings.
Your Words
Your content
Everything you write here — reviews, lists, articles, screenshots — is yours. You keep the copyright. You grant us a licence to display it on the site so the rest of the community can read it, and nothing more. Delete any of it whenever you want and the licence goes with it.
Good Neighbour
Being decent
No harassment, no hate speech, no illegal content, no spam, no pretending to be someone you're not. If you report something, we'll take a look. If someone breaks the rules, we'll remove content or close accounts. We moderate for conduct and accuracy, not for opinion — a negative review written in good faith stays up.
Sources
Where our data comes from
Catalogue data comes from IGDB, RAWG, Wikidata, Steam, and the community. We credit our sources and respect their terms. Trademarks and cover art belong to their rights-holders; we use them for identification. If you're a rights-holder and we've got something wrong, email privacy@vgdb.co.
Reality Check
The serious bit
We provide the site "as is". If it breaks we'll do our best to fix it, but we can't promise 100% uptime or that every release date is bang on. We're not liable for losses beyond what the law requires us to be. English law applies and the English courts have jurisdiction.
Updates
When this changes
Material changes go in the changelog and the "last updated" date at the bottom gets bumped.
