Description
Try them together anyway.
Wizard's Path: Palette of Spells is a survivors-like action roguelite where the spells you choose determine what kind of mage you become.
Fight through growing swarms of enemies, collect XP, level up, and build your own combination of spells. As your build takes shape, you'll discover a mage identity based on the magic types you've chosen.
You can focus entirely on one type of magic or experiment with combinations that take your build in a completely different direction.
Fire. Frost. Storm. Arcane. Blood. Shadow. Holy. Nature. Death. Summoner. Growth. Chaos. Greed. Challenger.
Each magic type offers different spells and ways to build your character.
Specializing in a single type lets you reach higher spell levels, while combining two or three types gives you access to more abilities and different interactions.
There are over 470 mage identities to discover, each with its own name, passives, progression, and leaderboard records.
You might find a combination that works surprisingly well. Or spend an entire run trying to make something ridiculous work.
Both are part of the fun.
Before each run, choose up to three runes from more than 30 available to unlock.
Runes aren't just stat bonuses. They change how a run works, often giving you a powerful advantage in exchange for a serious drawback.
Rune of the Martyr
Start with five times your normal maximum health, but lose the ability to heal for the entire run. No regeneration, lifesteal, or other healing effects.
Pandemonium
Your damage varies between 1% and 500%, while incoming damage varies between 1% and 250%. Every hit becomes unpredictable, whether you're dealing damage or taking it.
Rune of Malice
Increase enemy spawn rate and the enemy cap by 150%, without gaining any direct stat bonuses. You'll have far more enemies to deal with, but also more opportunities to earn XP and gold.
Most runes are unlocked by mastering their associated magic types, while others require completing specific challenges and achievements.
Different rune combinations can completely change how you approach a run, even when playing the same mage.
Sometimes you'll come across a grave left behind by another player.
Break it open and you can temporarily bring their fallen mage back to fight alongside you. Their health depends on the fallen player's run, and they'll only stay with you for a limited time.
It's a chance to get some extra help from another player's adventure, even if theirs didn't end particularly well.
Not every run follows the same pattern.
World events can interrupt your run and change what's happening on the battlefield.
Enemies might suddenly start exploding when killed. A Blood Stone might appear. A slime army could invade, or a Chronomancer might stop time and challenge you directly.
You can even encounter a champion based on one of your own previous runs, with additional health determined by how many enemies you killed during that run.
Some events give you new opportunities. Others make surviving much harder.
Want to see how far your build can go?
Endless Mode lets you continue fighting against increasingly powerful enemies, pushing your build until you can no longer survive.
There are also special events you can only encounter in Endless Mode. I'll leave those for you to discover.
Your kill count is recorded on the global leaderboard, but there's also a separate leaderboard for every mage identity.
That means you can compete for the overall highest kill count or try to set a record with your favorite mage.
With hundreds of different mages, there's plenty of room to experiment with builds that other players might have overlooked.
Endless Trial is a separate wave-based mode with no final boss or exit. You survive for as many waves as you can.
Starting at wave 14, every third wave forces you to choose one of three handicaps. Your choice stays active for the rest of the run.
There are 18 different handicaps, and each can stack up to three levels.
As the waves progress, you'll have to deal with both stronger enemies and the disadvantages you've accumulated along the way.
Your highest wave is recorded on a separate global leaderboard.
Discovering a mage during a run is only the beginning.
Defeat a boss after transforming into that mage, and you'll unlock it permanently. You can then select it at level 1 when starting future runs, without having to recreate the same spell combination.
Every mage has its own progression and passives, giving you reasons to return to the ones you enjoy playing.
You'll also earn gold during runs to spend on permanent unlocks and upgrades.
There are challenges that change your starting conditions, runes to unlock, records to beat, and plenty of magic combinations left to discover.
Also included:
Permanent upgrades and unlocks
Challenges with different starting rules
Individual mage progression
