Description
Way Too Many Cooks is a roguelike tower defense game where you hire cooks and place them strategically in your restaurant to serve dishes to the hordes of customers trying to ruin your reputation. Recruiting the right cooks, manipulating the customers’ paths, and improving your restaurant will be key to building a successful business.

In Way Too Many Cooks, you play as a restaurant manager who has just started their entrepreneurial adventure. Your goal is to keep the restaurant open for a whole month without your manager burning out after getting yelled at by too many unsatisfied customers.
You'll be in charge of hiring staff, buying furniture, designing the dining room layout, changing the menu, and managing the restaurant's finances.
With 5 playable managers, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and quirks, every game is sure to bring different issues and opportunities to the table.

To help you on your restaurateur journey, you can hire and train over 55 different, highly unprofessional cooks. Each of them has their own cooking style, serving abilities, and targeting range. You'll need to place them strategically in the dining room to maximize their efficiency and get the most out of them.
Each cook is also associated with specific food types and cooking families. Staffing cooks with the same specialties will activate cooking synergy abilities, making your restaurant more specialized and helping you serve more food, slow down customers, or improve your finances. There are 16 cooking synergies, each with its own effect for you to discover and build combos with.

Once your staff is trained and ready, it's time to open the doors and watch as hordes of starving and impatient customers rush in. As they try to reach the exit, your cooks will have to force-feed them by throwing food directly in their faces. Fortunately, customers seem to be as dumb as they are hungry, and manipulating their path through the dining room is as easy as placing tables in their way. Use your cooks and furniture to create a maze, keeping customers in your dining room longer and exposed to flying food for as long as possible.
Be careful, however, of special VIP customers who come equipped with unique quirks and abilities, making them more chaotic and harder to please. Hosting these 12 types of VIP customers will be more challenging than dealing with your regulars, so you'll need to be well prepared to receive them.

Make sure your restaurant looks and feels welcoming. Renovating and expanding your dining room, improving the walls and floors, or adding decorations will bring in more customers, open new positions, and even attract more powerful cooks to your team.
Choose your favorite style, from an old-school diner, dive bar, or canteen to a high-end fine dining restaurant or street food court. Choosing the right theme will help improve your cooks' performance and activate new abilities for even more satifying and devastating culinary combos.
