Description
On a continent where the ideals of three nations clash, what will you choose, and what will you defend?

Verdant Requiem is a story-driven tactical RPG that combines classic strategic gameplay with a sweeping war chronicle, branching storylines, and original military management systems.
This is not a simple tale of good versus evil.
Resources, faith, military power, and national interests all shape the conflicts of this world. As the ideals—and contradictions—of each nation clash, Leonis and his companions are drawn into a struggle over the balance of the entire continent.
What kind of future awaits this land will depend on the choices you make.
*Verdant Requiem* is designed as a full-length tactical RPG, with over 40 hours of total gameplay including the main story and optional scenarios.
The story branches into multiple routes, with each route expected to take approximately **12–17 hours** to complete.
*Estimated without using auto-battle, speed-up, or skip functions.*

Depending on the path you choose, the nations explored in the story, the meaning behind certain maps, the positions of your allies, and ultimately the ending itself will change.
In addition to the main story, the game features optional scenarios and flashback events told from the perspectives of individual characters, adding an ensemble-drama element to the narrative.
There is no permanent character death, but defeated units may suffer injury penalties.
Rather than permanently losing a character, the consequences of battle remain with your army in other ways, aiming to preserve tactical tension without sacrificing accessibility.
*Verdant Requiem* is not a conventional fantasy story built around a simple conflict between good and evil.
Instead, it tells a war chronicle shaped by competing ideals, political schemes, and the circumstances of three nations.
At the heart of the story lies the balance between those three powers.
One nation is blessed with abundant resources.
Another is shaped by faith.
A third thrives through trade and scholarship.
None of their circumstances are simple, and even those who stand against you have reasons they cannot abandon.
The main story primarily follows Leonis, but optional scenarios and flashback events also place the spotlight on his companions and people from across the three nations.
To avoid spreading characterization too thin, the number of playable allies is intentionally somewhat smaller than in many traditional SRPGs.
In return, the game places greater emphasis on each character's background, position within the world, relationships, and personal story.
Support conversations also feature character voice acting.

Combat in *Verdant Requiem* is built around the fundamentals of classic tactical RPGs.
In addition to familiar mechanics such as the weapon triangle, critical hits, effective damage, and skills, the game features a **flanking follow-up system** based on unit positioning, as well as **Combat Arts** that emphasize the individual strengths of each character.
Victory is not simply about defeating enemies.
Where you position your units, who initiates an attack, and when you choose to use a Combat Art can all change the course of battle.
Every move matters.
The goal is to deliver the kind of deliberate, position-focused tactical gameplay that defines the SRPG genre.

Considerable effort has also gone into presentation, with the goal of making both the story and battles feel more memorable.
Combat features character cut-ins and dedicated Combat Art effects, while event scenes make use of weather, fog, lighting, camera effects, and other visual techniques to establish the atmosphere of each scene.
The game also incorporates simulated bloom, water reflections, noise effects, and other visual processing techniques.
Although *Verdant Requiem* is developed in SRPG Studio, extensive work has gone into creating a visual identity that goes beyond the engine's default appearance.
Character portraits blink, map sprites feature additional animations, and both modified and original pixel art assets are used throughout the game.
The UI in particular includes custom visual processing intended to connect the game's presentation with one of its central themes: **balance**.
The aim is to create an experience in which the systems, presentation, and world itself feel connected.

In addition to standard tactical maps, *Verdant Requiem* features several original systems focused on managing and maintaining your army.
Two of the most important are:
**Military Logistics**
Manage three key resources: **Salt, Food, and Minerals**.
**Alignment Balance**
Leonis' alignment changes according to the player's actions, influencing both his abilities and the strength of the army as a whole.
Other facilities and systems also support your forces outside of battle, including a **Mobile Canteen** and **Arcane Mineral Research Laboratory**.
Winning battles is only one part of leading an army.
You must also decide how to use limited supplies, how to sustain your forces, and what direction your army should ultimately take.
Those decisions form an important part of the game.

In addition, the game features over **40,000 Japanese characters of Support Conversations**, with character voice acting included.
The **Tea Time** interaction system is unvoiced, but contains more than **50,000 Japanese characters of dialogue**. Presented from the player's point of view, it allows you to spend time with individual characters and talk with them about a wide variety of topics.
Through these conversations, you can discover more about each character's personality, values, relationships, and even sides of them that may never appear on the battlefield.
*Verdant Requiem* is not designed as a simple SRPG in which you move directly from one battle map to the next.
The Military Logistics system revolves around three resources:
・Salt
・Food
・Minerals
These resources are not only part of the army's logistical needs, but can also be used through various base facilities and systems.
Leonis' alignment also changes according to the player's actions.
These changes affect Leonis himself, allied units, and the army as a whole—and can even influence major branches in the story.
For this reason, players looking for a light and straightforward SRPG may find the game heavier than expected.
On the other hand, players who enjoy taking their time with **story, tactics, army management, and resource management** may find the experience especially rewarding.

New Game Cycles and Clear Points (CP)
- The game features **three story routes**.
- The route branch occurs in **Chapter 10**.
- Clearing each route awards **Clear Points (CP)**.
CP rewards are as follows:
- Clearing the **Empire Route**: 10 CP
- Clearing the **Holy Nation Route**: 10 CP
- Clearing the **Third Route**: 20 CP
CP can be used when selecting **New Game** to exchange for bonus items.
Once CP has been awarded, spent points are restored the next time you begin a new game.
For example:
10 CP owned → 6 CP spent → Start another New Game → CP returns to 10.
Please note that after clearing the Third Route and obtaining 20 CP, viewing the ending of either the Empire Route or Holy Nation Route will cause the stored CP value to return to 10.
Viewing the Third Route ending again will restore it to 20.
For this reason, we recommend keeping a save file from **Chapter 25 immediately before clearing the Third Route**.
