Description
This game currently supports Japanese only.
ULTIMATE SHOGI is a strategy game that combines authentic shogi with magic cards and AI assistance.
Move your pieces. Read your opponent.
And when the moment comes, unleash a magic card.
Move pieces in ways that ordinary shogi would never allow.
Instantly construct a powerful castle.
Set traps in your opponent’s path.
Protect a piece that should have been lost.
A single impossible move can rewrite the future of the board.
You can call on AI assistance at any time during a match.
The AI analyzes the position and shows you strong moves and the current advantage.
But it will never tell you which magic card to use.
If you play a turn without viewing AI information, you earn more mana.
Rely on the AI and play accurately,
or give up that information and gather power for your magic.
That choice is part of the strategy of ULTIMATE SHOGI.
Even when the AI judges your position to be overwhelmingly bad, the game is not necessarily over.
Magic can change the board itself, allowing you to overturn the future the AI predicted.
From losing to winning.
From a hopeless position to a forced mate.
The worse your position is in ordinary shogi, the more valuable magic can become.
Do you continue playing “correct” shogi?
Or do you break the position apart and create a new path to victory?
Magic cards come in many forms:
Movement cards that let pieces move in impossible ways
Enhancement cards that strengthen or protect your pieces
Placement cards that create traps and barriers on the board
Special cards that manipulate resources such as mana and time
Castle cards that instantly form structures such as Mino, Yagura, or Anaguma
Your deck contains 20 cards.
Focus on pure shogi.
Build around magical aggression.
Control the game with traps and disruption.
The board may be the same, but your deck can completely change the way you fight.
In the single-player mode, you enter the Kyuosen Tournament, where a cast of distinctive shogi players awaits.
Win matches, acquire cards, unlock abilities, and fight your way through the tournament.
Aggressive players.
Defensive specialists.
Opponents who rely on traps and disruption.
And powerful rivals who understand ULTIMATE SHOGI just as well as you do.
Every opponent demands a different approach.
Challenge the tournament again and again, unlock new cards, and ultimately defeat the Meijin waiting at the top.
With AI assistance, you can see strong moves and learn your way through a match.
Experienced shogi players can instead turn off the assistance, rely on their own reading, and earn more mana.
Shogi skill alone will not decide the game.
Card-game knowledge alone will not decide it either.
Read the board. Manage your resources.
And sometimes, abandon everything ordinary shogi has taught you.
On 81 squares, discover a kind of shogi no one has played before.
