The Silent Wild is a realistic first-person survival game set in a procedurally generated open world. Play alone, or bring a second player and survive together in split-screen co-op on one PC. Hunt, gather and craft, build a shelter from physical blocks, and keep yourself fed, dry and warm in a wilderness where the weather is as dangerous as anything with teeth.
Weather that can kill you
Days turn into nights and the rain soaks through your clothes, pulling your body temperature down. When the real cold arrives, all the water around you freezes. Filling a bottle takes longer, and the water you already carry turns to ice.
Then a tornado comes through, and the spot you thought was safe stops being safe.
Staying alive
Keep an eye on your
health, stamina, hunger, thirst, body temperature and wetness. You can get sick, pick up food poisoning from the wrong meal, or walk away from a fight covered in bruises. Medicine helps, if you have some.
Forage for mushrooms, loot what you find, and dress for the job: some clothes keep you warm, others work as armor.
Build, defend, and watch the fire
Everything you build is made of physical blocks, and anything without support will fall. Put spikes around your home to hold off enemies, and set up a chicken coop for a steady supply of eggs.
Be careful with fire. Flames spread to nearby objects, and a campfire in the wrong place can turn into a wildfire.
Packs, giants and things that burn
Wolves and other animals share the wilderness with several kinds of enemies: regular ones, burning ones and winter ones. Wolves and creatures gather into packs and move together, and every so often a pack develops
True Sight. Once that happens, it can see you wherever you hide.
The giants are different. They're neutral.
The abandoned hangar
Somewhere in the generated world stands an abandoned hangar full of old military equipment. The tanks hold plenty of loot and can be stripped down for metal. The creatures sleeping around the hangar wake up if you get too close, so decide how badly you want that metal before you go in.
Split-screen co-op on one PC
Play solo, or team up with a friend in local couch co-op: split screen on one display, or each player on their own monitor. Gathering, building and exploring go faster with two, though there are also two of you to feed and keep warm.
