Description
Return to the aftermath of World War I, as the Austro-Hungarian Empire slowly falls apart. You play as the owner of a civilian trading post, running a strange little shop and reliving one three-day cycle after another through your memories. Survive a total of 30 days, reconstruct what really happened, and convince your family that everything you remember was real.
The controls are intentionally simple: mouse clicks, SPACE to skip, and ESC to exit. Within the game, you can trade goods, predict prices, head out to purchase supplies, and even... banish demons and murder customers.
Manipulate prices, resell supplies for profit, monitor the condition of both your shop and yourself, and survive 30 full days under increasingly brutal conditions.
By sheer coincidence, you now control the entire town's supply routes. But how much money you can make from them is not really what matters to you.
The real reason you remain in this town is that the old aristocracy murdered your business partner in an attempt to seize his convoy. But now that control of the convoy has passed to you, their attention has turned to you as well...
There are many ways to die during a run, any one of which can bring the game to an end: starvation, freezing to death, loss of faith, being reported for murder... Just like countless others struggling to survive in 1918, the shopkeeper you play in these memories faces danger from every direction.
But you possess one enormous advantage: your convoy gives you the power to manipulate the prices of goods across the entire town. At the same time, an unexpected group of people approaches you. They will become important pieces in the plan you are building within the town, while the violence hidden inside you begins to spread.
Most of the time, you can simply trade and deal with the people of the town. Building relationships with them may help lead you toward a better ending. But you must still complete your objectives—otherwise, the story will come to an abrupt end.
For reasons you cannot fully understand, your mind has fallen into confusion. Perhaps it is the drugs. Perhaps it is exhaustion.
Whatever the cause, strange anomalies begin appearing inside your memories: lights flicker, the stove suddenly goes out, your backpack disappears, prices printed in books become corrupted, newspapers turn completely blank...
You interpreted all of these events as omens foretold by the Tarot. And so, within your memories, Tarot cards can be used to aid you.
The Fool grants you one extra day.
The Sun grants you money that continues to stack over time.
The Tower wipes out all of your money, but doubles your goods.
Death leaves you on the brink of dying—but in return, it also allows you to kill a customer...
Find the anomalies, and obtain Tarot cards.
You possess an extraordinary talent for business. If you truly wanted to, you could even make leather more expensive than gold.
Use the trading panel to purchase supplies and keep track of the constantly changing prices of every resource. You are the Price Setter—the one who decides the price of every deal.
About the economic systems: The game intentionally simplifies the real-world mechanisms of price manipulation in order to create a more engaging gameplay experience.
