Settle into island life in Straywild, a relaxed fishing, collecting, and creative hangout with a retro, low-poly look. Make an animal character of your own, find a favorite spot by the water, and spend your time chasing an unusual catch, painting with friends, or wandering the coast. Play solo or share your island online.

- Fish, net, and dig. Discover more than 300 collectible creatures across freshwater and ocean fishing, net catching, and beach digging. Cast into ponds, lakes, rivers, and the sea, sneak up on crabs and beetles with your net, and watch for little spurts in the sand that reveal buried clams. Location, season, time of day, weather, and bait can all affect which creatures are available to you!

- Fill your logbook. Track discoveries across freshwater, saltwater, insect, and shellfish collections. Learn creature facts, check habitats and availability, and work toward collecting all five quality tiers, including shiny catches! Hunt for rare and legendary discoveries, favorite the catches you want to keep, and show them off for other players to see.

- Find your island. Choose the starter island or generate a new landscape from a random seed or one you enter yourself. Explore forests, beaches, cliffs, ponds, lakes, and winding rivers. Day and night follow the real-world clock, seasons follow the calendar, and sunny, cloudy, rainy, and foggy weather change the atmosphere. Keep an eye out for messages washed ashore in bottles!

- Make your own critter. Mix and match animal features, from ears and tails to beaks, horns, fins, and wings. Adjust your character's proportions, patterns, and colors, choose a name and title, customize your speech voice, and pick your own animal call!

- Earn your next upgrade. Sell catches for cash, gain experience and levels, complete daily jobs, and work through long-term collection milestones. Shop for specialist fishing rods, bait, lures, a fish finder, and useful snacks and drinks. Improve your reeling and fishing power, expand your backpack, and save up for home and art upgrades.

- Make art together. Use the Art Kit to paint on world surfaces and place shared drawing grids that other players can join. Unlock more marker colors, brush sizes, larger grids, and a stamp tool. Erase or undo strokes, export your creations as PNG images, and reuse saved artwork as stamps.

- Make yourself at home. Start with a tent and upgrade to an RV home with more storage. Arrange simple decor blocks inside using grid or free placement, and move, rotate, or pack them away as you experiment. Open your home to visitors or keep it private, and visit other players' open homes.

- Spend time together. Host friends or join dedicated servers, chat and use roleplay actions, exchange letters with other players in your session, and sit down to fish side by side. Keep a friends list and send invites. Mute and block controls, along with host moderation tools, help you manage your time online.

- Get comfortable. Play with keyboard and mouse or a controller, remap inputs, adjust the camera and pixelation, and use optional auto-click assistance for fishing. Keep separate adventures in multiple save slots, with save import and export available.
