Dig beneath the mountain, march against its walls. Hook ore from the depths to fund your army, line your units across the hex battlefield, fuse the ones that stand together, and break fifteen fortress gates in a rogue-lite siege where what you mine below decides the war above.
Description
Deep under the Iron Mountain, the ore waits. Above it, the fortress walls stand between your people and freedom. Stone and Throne is a rogue-lite reverse tower defense where you don't guard the towers. You bring them down, and every step of your march is paid for with what you dig out of the earth.
Swing your hook into the mine, time your throw, and drag up gold, stone and rare finds. Your basket has a limit. When it's full, the load starts its long haul to the surface and the mine goes quiet until it arrives. Send it up early and you waste the run. Wait too long and the war above slips out of your hands. The gold arrives all at once, right when you need it most.
Set your army on a hex battlefield. Each turn you roll the dice and spend the action points on placing, repositioning and turning your units. Put the right units side by side and they fuse into stronger formations. At the end of every turn, everyone in range strikes at once, so position and timing decide the fight. The castle raises arrow, fire, frost, poison and lightning towers and bends the weather to its side. You break the walls by choosing your facing and your ground well.
Every siege gives you ways to tilt the field in your favor. Brace a unit against an incoming strike. Spend the ammo you hauled out of the mine to buy an extra move on a critical turn. Read how the weather hits towers and troops, then set your position to match it. Picking the right moment matters more than raw strength.
Between campaigns, return to your village. Upgrade the barracks, the forge, the treasury and the war council. Unlock new units, mining tools and doctrines, and every campaign you start will be stronger than the last.
