Description

You died. You woke in a world where the Light rules, and the powers of darkness woke with you.
Shadow Sovereign is a dark fantasy incremental tower defense, where you are the tower. Your legion of shadows marches out to meet the horde; you hold the ground behind it, tactically casting your ultimate, resummoning fallen shadows and shadowpulling them out of danger while using your weapon. Between runs you rebuild that legion, and every rebuild makes the next march longer.
Fight with your legion, or let it grind while you plan. Both work. One is faster.

The Sovereign does not walk. He pulls a shadow out of danger, resummons the fallen, drops his ultimate at your cursor, and fires his weapon at the enemy you choose or the one his aim picks. Speed the easy waves up to 4x and slow down for the bosses.

Five acts stand between you and the Light: The Rotting Catacombs, The Drowned Wood, The Ash Plains, The Throne of Ash, and at the end of the road, The Lightfall.
Every stage ends in a boss, and there are 23 of them. Each has its own kit, its own way of punishing a lazy formation, and a shadow it leaves behind when it falls. Bind all twenty of the first four acts and hold court with the crowns you broke.

Your Sovereign spends levels on a talent tree of more than 1,600 nodes, laid out in wheels: complete a wheel, master it, and the tree redraws itself on every prestige so no two climbs are the same.

Field up to 32 shadows at once, drawn from 29 unit types: nine shadow classes, from tank and paladin to warlock and assassin, and the twenty boss shadows you claim by killing their living selves.
Every shadow levels, then promotes through ten ranks, each rank with its own perk and new art at ranks 4, 7 and 10. Class talents tune how a shadow fights, promotion perks decide what it becomes.
Loot drops in six rarities from Common to Mythic. Reroll the affix you dislike, salvage the rest in bulk, and take one of four weapons up its own skill tree: Storm Staff, Ember Bow, Tide Blade or Frost Fangs.

Prestige earns Echoes. Spend them on the Prestige Tree, five rings of perks, masteries and edicts that stay with you forever: a bigger legion, a Sovereign who starts each life at a higher level, bounties on every crown, and whole systems that were not there before.
Reach the top of The Lightfall, defeat the Light, and the world crowns you the Shadow Sovereign.
