A real-time military strategy game about reconnaissance and long-range strikes. Scout with drones, plot routes around the air defences you've found, and design every aircraft yourself from a hull and modules. Somewhere across the map, the enemy is looking for your base too.
Description
Both sides can see the terrain. Neither can see what the other has built. The enemy has one base on their half of the map. You don't know which hex it's on, and they don't know where yours is. Destroy their base before they find yours.
A missile flies to the hex you point it at. If nobody has flown over that hex, you're guessing. A drone with a camera lifts the fog along its route, and where no drone can reach, use satellite reconnaissance.
You plot every strike hex by hex. Go around a battery and you burn range. Go straight through and you lose aircraft. Forest hides you, towns give you away, and mountain ridges break the radar beam. The blind zone behind a ridge has a name: radar shadow.
Watch where your aircraft come down. Every aircraft that crashes into a town or village kills civilians, and civilian deaths cost you foreign support.
Meanwhile their drones are already over your territory. Air defence fires only at detected targets, and each battery can track only a few at once. One expensive aircraft is easy to shoot down. A swarm of cheap ones is not, and the same arithmetic works both ways.
A jammer shoots nothing down. It gets in the way: over its area, their aircraft fail more often and come down short of the target. Cheap single-frequency radios suffer most, multi-frequency ones less, and only the Orbital jammer can touch a satellite link. Put a jammer across their routes and your air defence gets fewer targets.
Against their satellite there is the Blinding set: when the satellite passes over it, it brings back noise instead of a picture. And decoys draw enemy strikes away.

Every drone and every missile is a hull with bays, and what goes in them (warhead, fuel tank, engine, radio, camera) is up to you. The heavier the warhead, the shorter the range. A cheap single-frequency radio is easy to jam. An autonomous aircraft can't be jammed at all, but it never reports what it saw.
Research opens new hulls and modules, improves detection, air defence and jamming, and unlocks directives for the whole country.
Found their base? Launch a salvo from several points at once: while its air defence is busy with some of your aircraft, the rest get through.
Radar Shadow is in development. Everything on this page is captured from the current build. If this sounds like your kind of strategy game, add it to your wishlist.
