Description
OnzeFoot is an old-school football manager. You take over a club, make the calls for the week and follow the match play by play.
On the touchline
Choose from eight formations, your team’s mentality and how high it presses. Once the ball is rolling, the commentary brings shots, saves, goals, penalties, cards and injuries. You make substitutions, change mentality and pressing, pause, step through play by play or speed things up. Alongside it you get pressure, shots, possession, and each player’s stamina and match rating.
The career
League: 32 clubs across two divisions, with promotion and relegation.
Cup: a knockout competition, settled on penalties when level.
Calendar: pre-season friendlies and a Super Cup to open the season.
Board: its confidence rises and falls with every result, and it expects a league position.
Reputation: good results bring invitations from other clubs. If the board’s confidence runs out, you are sacked and go looking for another job.
New season: contracts expire, clubs go up and down, and the history of every season is kept.
The squad
Every player has an overall strength, five attributes (finishing, passing, marking, pace and reflexes), age, stamina, morale, salary and contract. Injuries and suspensions rule players out of the matchday.
The transfer market
Buy, sell, take players on loan and renew contracts. Other clubs come back with counter-offers and also bid for your players.
Finances and stadium
Wages, gate receipts, prize money and upkeep all go into the books. The stadium has three sections, each with its own ticket price and expansion, and attendance responds to the team’s form, the opponent and the price.
Beyond the career
Single match: pick two clubs and play.
Local profiles: each person keeps their own careers on the same computer.
Light and dark themes.
Entirely fictional
Clubs, players and competitions are all made up.
