About This Game
Saying goodbye at any function in the Midwest takes seemingly forever, but you have other things to do. Start a conversation with this narrative deck builder that follows you through moments of your life and makes you want to call your grandma. Using a deck builder as a metaphor for growing and changing as a person, Midwest Goodbye asks you to relive various key moments throughout your life with your family. While you might’ve wanted to get out of a conversation with your grandma quickly at first, taking your first steps into the world on your own might leave you wishing you’d spent a little more time talking with her.
Build your deck:
Play cards with your family as a metaphor for conversation.
Your hand of cards are the thoughts that come to you.
Customize your cards with stamps and stickers after conversations.
Strengthen or weaken your relationships with the characters around you.
See who’s still there for you on your moving-out day!
Along the way:
Explore the corners of your quiet Midwestern home, reminiscing on the subtleties of change and growth.
Experience triumph and heartbreak through multiple unique endings, brought about by the choices you made along the way.
Enter into a gripping narrative, packed with the Good, Bad, and the Ugly of everyday life.
With handcrafted environments, characters, dialogue, and music, Midwest Goodbye will make you realize why saying goodbye can sometimes take longer than you think.
