Can you overcome the tide of history and become a legendary merchant-official whose name echoes through the ages?

A first-rank court hat, a thousand chains of burden. Your ledger accounts for four hundred million lives; your abacus calculates nine hundred and eighty million taels of silver. The final treaty you sign — will it mark the darkness of the First Sino-Japanese War, or the dawn of the Xinhai Revolution?
Childhood sweethearts, Suzhou-Hangzhou embroiderers, courtesans of the imperial court, and heroines of the martial world — all are but roads you have traveled. But who will be the one destined for your heart? Will your golden imperial robe become the red bridal veil she wears?

In a feudal empire beset by internal turmoil and foreign threats, can you establish banks, raise military provisions, monopolize the silk trade, challenge the Western powers’ trading houses, and become the richest merchant of the late Qing Dynasty?
