Description
Take the role of a Lanista and build your own gladiator school in ancient Rome.
Recruit fighters, develop their strengths and prepare them for the arena. But running a successful Ludus takes more than winning fights. Gold is limited, every day gives you only a handful of actions, and poor decisions can bring your entire House to ruin.
Train your gladiators, find hidden combat-traits, manage their morale and injuries, hire staff, buy equipment and keep your finances under control. Every action costs time or resources, so deciding what not to do can be just as important as deciding what to do.
Fame - collected through winning fights - opens new opportunities, but success also brings higher costs and greater risks. Ignore your finances for too long and bankruptcy can end your run before any champion ever reaches the top.
Every fighter develops differently. Improve their attributes, discover traits, unlock disciplines and equip them with weapons and armor that support their strengths.
Some fighters become reliable veterans. Others grow into specialists built for a particular opponent or fighting style. And sometimes a promising recruit simply does not survive long enough to become either.
The arena is not just about winning. It is about deciding which risks are worth taking.
Scout opponents, compare contracts, choose the right gladiator and prepare their equipment before committing to a fight. Safer battles can build momentum and Fame, while dangerous encounters offer greater rewards and greater consequences.
Fight through automatic combat or take a more active role with Quick-Time combat when available.
Gladiators gain experience, suffer injuries, develop new traits and can die permanently in the most dangerous situations.
A victory can create a champion. A bad injury can derail weeks of investment. And even the strongest roster cannot save a House that runs out of Gold.
Every run becomes part of the history of your House.
Completed runs are recorded in your House Chronicle and contribute to your long-term Legacy. Chase stronger runs, increase your House Renown and build an identity that survives beyond a single roster of gladiators.
