Description
Simple rules. Incredible depth. A game worth sharing.
It amazes me how much can grow from Go’s simple rules. Black and white stones, an empty board, and possibilities that keep unfolding the longer you play.
Go Together brings that fascination to a beautiful 3D table. Sit down with a friend, challenge a computer opponent, and enjoy a game that gives you room to think—and plenty of reasons to play again.
There’s something special about discovering a game together. Share a local two-player match on the same device, whether you’re trying Go for the first time or returning to a friendly rivalry.
Take turns from opposite sides of the table, with a camera that can move to the active player’s seat, or switch to an overhead view to consider the whole board.
Choose a 9 × 9, 13 × 13, or full 19 × 19 board. Explore how the same simple rules create different challenges as the space to play grows.
Meet our own Revolving Gear Studio Go model, play against Michi by Petr Baudiš, or challenge KataGo by David J. Wu and its contributors. These opponents run locally on your computer, with adjustable settings and different approaches to discover. I’m excited to bring them together here, with more models planned for the future.
Click and drag a stone, or select it and then choose its place. Your move stays provisional until you end your turn, giving you a moment to reconsider. Illegal placements receive a hint so you can explore another move.
Go’s contemplative nature is a big part of why I love it. Taking a moment to look, question an idea, and notice something you missed can be as enjoyable as finding a brilliant move.
Settle into the 3D environment, choose between three interface styles, and play with a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad. Explore historical Go artwork in A Shared History—a glimpse into the rich culture of a game whose influence continues to fascinate me.
Go’s simple rules and extraordinary complexity amaze me. Its long history and its role in modern technological breakthroughs deepen that appreciation. There is so much to this game, and yet you can still sit down across from someone and simply enjoy playing.
Go Together started as a small project alongside my bigger one. An idea, a palate cleanser, and the pleasure of building something that felt straightforward. But it grew into something much more: a beautiful place to play, a game to share with friends, and a chance to build our own opponent alongside remarkable Go engines created by others.
That’s what I want to share with you—the fascination, the time to think, and the fun of playing.
The current game supports local two-player matches and computer opponents. Online play is in development, with more models planned.
Explore Go. Play against our model or others. Play against each other. But most importantly, Go Together.
