Forgotten Horizons

⚠️ This game is in active development (version 0.9.6, pre-release). The world, combat, trading, fishing, building, co-op and mod support already work, but the story campaign does not reach its ending yet, and balance and polish are still in progress.

A road bends into a loop and joins itself. An inn has twelve made beds and no door. Deer carry flowers to a grave no living soul remembers. And beneath the Forgotten Temple lies everything people once gave away so they would not have to carry it.

You wake beside a fire that is almost ash. No memory. A sharpened rusty sword, a blue-stitched backpack, an empty waterskin, and a note in strangely familiar handwriting:

📖 A story where you decide

A prologue and eleven chapters — from Hearthmere, a village where every agreement is spoken aloud before a hearth, down to the Choir of Vesper deep beneath the temple.

• 🧭 Follow memory traces, notes and testimony — the world itself tells you where to go next.

• ⚖️ Decide who to spare, who should hold the Prism, and who deserves the truth. The people around you will remember.

• 🎭 No chosen one, no prophecy — only the consequences you are prepared to accept.

• 🏁 Three endings.

🌍 A world that keeps going

The world generates around you and streams in as you walk. Five regions, five different moods:

• 🌾 Plains — old roads, the village and the first dangers.

• 🌲 Forest — overgrown city blocks and a school still guarded by wolves.

• 🏔️ Mountains — mines, passes and the Forgotten Temple.

• 🏜️ Desert — land of the Unrecorded, who keep the truth in clay tablets.

• 💀 Death Valley — black glass and a city you can only see sideways.

🌦️ Dawns, fog, rain and storms change both the view and how far you dare to stray from the fire.

🗺️ Places worth finding

• 🏛️ The Forgotten Temple — seals, ancient records and the way down to the Choir of Vesper.

• 🏰 The Silent Keep — a garrison, an undercroft and the Warden waiting in his vault.

• ⛏️ Shaft Six — lifts, rail cars, dark drifts and a prize at the very bottom.

• ✨ The Aether — another dimension beyond a lens ring: fragments of forgotten places drift above a sea of clouds, and you fly between them.

⚔️ Combat that teaches respect

• 🗡️ Combos, dashes and blocks with real attack animations.

• 📈 XP for victories, a bonus for your first fight with a new species, streaks and weapon mastery.

• 👑 Bosses in their own arenas: readable attacks, summoned adds and multiple phases.

• 💪 No skill point screens: you get better at exactly what you do.

🏡 Life between expeditions

• 🏘️ Hearthmere — a quest board, merchants, a fisherman and reputation you have to earn.

• 💰 Trading — buy, sell, save up. Merchant stock is finite.

• 🎣 Fishing — fishing spots, different species and a skill that unlocks better catches.

• 🪓 Gathering — cut the wood and mine the ore with your own hands.

• 🏠 A home of your own — build a house from gold and timber and make it your respawn point.

• 🛡️ Raids — defend the village, then find out who attacked it and why.

• 🎒 Gear — rarities, search, filters, sorting and a hotbar.

🤝 Together with friends

Open your world to friends over Steam — everyone brings their own hero and their own save.

• 👥 Up to 8 players in one world by default.

• 📨 Join from your Steam friends list or accept an invite through the overlay.

• 🔒 Friends only, public or private, with an optional password.

• 💬 Chat and host tools.

🧩 Mods

The game loads mods from a local folder and from the Steam Workshop: new items and creatures without reinstalling the game. In co-op, everyone plays with the same set of mods.
