Overview
Descend a gothic clocktower dreamscape to escape the curse of time. A short, atmospheric puzzle game that gently blends Sokoban mechanics, bullet-hell traversal, and dark mystery.
Description
After awakening in a mysterious clocktower, Chime must solve puzzles and answer riddles to find her way out of the labyrinthian dreamscape, floor by floor. The environment is familiar to her, but she's not quite sure why.
Curse of the Countess features a unique blend of Sokoban (block pushing) mechanics, rhythmic projectile-shooting enemies, environmental puzzles and a moody, atmospheric story, all culminating into an experience unlike any other. Pensive, charming, and ponderous.
Reminiscent of games like Majoras Mask, Curse of the Countess features a counter that consistently ticks downward, driving the player forward and forcing concise decision-making in a world full of mystery.
6 Main floors to navigate, each with their own sets of obstacles
Environmental puzzles with hidden within the broader landscape
Hidden pathways and secrets
A variety of riddles and puzzles, ranging in complexity
Engaging boss fights that test the players understanding of the world
Classic visuals nodding to the PSX era with a complimentary art style
A standard run is expected to take between 2-3 hours with enough procedural generation and RNG to allow for satisfying replayability.
We use absolutely no generative AI assets, (or store-bought assets) in this game.
Curse of the Countess is entirely handcrafted.
