FIGHT BY DAY. CHOOSE BY NIGHT.
Cruzado is a top-down action roguelite about a Templar's march from Antioch to Jerusalem.
By day, survive waves of enemies with your crossbow, your reflexes and a well-timed dash. By night, make camp, tend your wounds and prepare for tomorrow. But dawn comes fast, and you only have a few actions before it does.
Your wounds don't heal on their own. Every choice at camp has a price.
THE ROAD TO JERUSALEM
Three acts. Thirty days. From the green hills of the Syrian coast, across the scorched inland desert, to the walls of Jerusalem itself.
The journey unfolds through painted cutscenes, like pages of an old chronicle brought to life. Every step closer to the Holy City is harder than the last, and each act ends with a boss waiting at the end of the road.
COMBAT
Move freely, aim by hand, and dash through danger. Strong attacks are telegraphed. Read them and dash at the right moment, because simply walking away won't save you.
Face recruits and lancers, shield bearers, archers, knife throwers, desert hounds, fire-pot throwers hurling Greek fire, a wandering flute player who charms snakes and, yes, some very angry geese.
The sun sinks as the battle drags on. Elites and the mighty Iron Emir stand between you and the next act.
THE NIGHT IS NOT ALWAYS SAFE
Camp alone, and you may be ambushed in the dark. Beyond your light, you can only hear them coming.
Light is your greatest ally. Torches and lanterns push back the darkness, and a careless enemy who steps into your campfire will learn to regret it.
EVERY ACTION COSTS THE NIGHT
Your action points are few. Sleep to recover, upgrade your gear, shop, brew or give a gift. You cannot do it all.
Sleeping heals you, but it costs time you could spend growing stronger. Gold, gems and scrap are scarce. Spend too much on today and you may not be ready for tomorrow. Save too much and there may be no tomorrow.
THE BLACKSMITH, THE ALCHEMIST AND THE MERCHANT
Every third night, one of them visits your camp:
- The Blacksmith forges your scrap into upgrades for eight pieces of gear, from boots and crossbow to backpack and sleeping bag.
- The Alchemist improves and refills the potions you carry.
- The Merchant sells artifacts and potions. Search for new offers or lock the ones you want for later.
BUILD YOUR CRUSADE
Combine dozens of artifacts, potions and gear upgrades. Make your bolts bleed, burn, poison or freeze. Chain critical hits, bury the battlefield in projectiles, or become a nearly unbreakable wall of armor and faith.
Your backpack is small and your equipment slots are limited. Choose what truly serves your build, and leave the rest behind.
Death ends your run. What you learned stays with you.
ROMANCE
There is more to life than war. Buy gifts and slowly win the heart of the Blacksmith, the Alchemist or the Merchant.
A stronger bond unlocks new scenes, discounts and bonuses tied to her craft. But every coin spent on a gift is a coin not spent on steel. Is a future advantage worth a sacrifice today?
Or stay a lone wolf. The road to Jerusalem is long either way.
