This is because you – a sentient, cursed sword known as a Soulblade, have the ability to take control of anyone who grips your hilt.

In this Germanic Folklore-inspired HD2D RPG (with rogue-lite & metroidvania elements), your Soulblade abilities will allow you to take control and interact as every character in the game.

As a Soulblade, you're not just juggling your own stats and abilities – you're also pulling the strings on the lives of the bodies you possess. Your choices will shape the world.

While all characters are playable, and all characters are recruitable after you begin rebuilding your keep, you will still need to make your choices wisely. Roles like the Blacksmith will have effects on the quality of upgrades you can perform based on the faction the recruited NPC originates from.
