Overview
Bannerfall is a cute-looking but deeply tactical single-player roguelike RTS. Build custom squads of units, equip them with empowering banners and face sieges, skirmishes and story events as you journey through a randomly generated world each run.
Description
Choose the composition of each battle group yourself. Build small specialized teams or balanced, well-rounded groups of units. Design a battle standard for each squad, combining multiple banners to wield in battle. Each banner grants unique bonuses - some enhance stats, others unlock powerful abilities. Find synergistic combinations that amplify each other or perfectly fit your squad’s role. Assign officers to carry these standards wisely - if they fall, their squads lose the banner’s benefits!
You command your squads as groups rather than micromanaging individual units, so positioning is key. Flank enemies to reach their fragile backlines, snipe enemy officers to weaken whole squads, or simply overwhelm them in direct combat. Use terrain features and battlefield effects to your advantage, and cast powerful spells to turn the tide in your favor.
With every playthrough, you'll encounter new sets of banners, units, and story choices. Weigh your risks, cover your weaknesses, and choose your path wisely to overcome the challenges ahead to create an unstoppable army!
Fight through randomized encounters and story events, growing stronger with each battle. Should you fall, learn from it, revise your strategy, and try again. The banner only falls until the next soldier picks it up!
