Overview
Fight on the front line as a Commander in a side-scrolling action-RTS where every Nut is physical. Build self-running machines as Flux or Forge—or infiltrate and turn enemy systems against them as Shade.
Description
Action & Automation is a side-scrolling action-RTS where you fight on the front line while the systems behind you keep working. Build and route machines as Flux or Forge, or play without a conventional base as Shade—slipping into enemy systems and turning their investment against them.
Lead with your Commander, then rely on drones, belts, Construction Apps, factories, and AI units to hold ground, move resources, and attack across multi-height maps with elevators and platforms. Every species changes what you build, what you control, and what defeat means.
There is one resource: Nut. Nuts fall from trees and defeated enemies as physical pickups—not numbers that teleport into a bank. They must be collected, carried, routed, or spent in the world.
Flux sends Logistics Drones to deliver Nuts. Forge moves them through physical production lines. Shade collects them personally and turns them into combat pressure. The next Nut can strengthen your Commander at the front or expand the system working behind you.
Flux — A washing-machine AI who inherited a product marketer's faith, searching for silent Human through the Ark of Wash. Fight with a plasma rifle and Commander Skills while Construction Apps, drone logistics, fusion, and power routing automate the battlefield. Stack two Apps to fuse them into a new role—a charging Steed, a long-range Sharpshooter, or a lightning-throwing Voltair.
Forge — An unlicensed factory foreman who became a person by accident. Ride heavy treads, wield flame and wrench, and turn conveyor routes, factories, and the Furnace into a physical production line. Lead a four-toy workforce that hauls, lifts, and fights.
Shade — A cyber-ghost who chose stillness until responsibility found her. Use fast movement, Nano Blade combat, shuriken tools, social engineering, misdirection, and control to infiltrate enemy systems and weaponize their investment without building a conventional base.
Flux, Forge, and Shade are not cosmetic reskins. Each changes how you move, collect, build, upgrade, attack, and survive.
This page describes the planned release experience. Features in development builds may vary while campaign, multiplayer, Workshop, and Steam service work continues.
The story unfolds inside Project Babel, a machine-world where Human has gone silent and three species improvise meaning from broken instructions, inherited systems, and responsibilities no creator returned to claim.
Campaign: experience three species campaigns, each reading the same broken world through a different philosophy and playstyle.
Skirmish: fight AI commanders on official or custom maps.
Custom Maps: build and share stages through a text-friendly map format, with Steam Workshop sharing planned.
Multiplayer: casual Steam P2P and LAN support is a launch target for private lobbies and co-op against AI.
Direct Commander combat alongside self-running Flux and Forge systems—or Shade infiltration and control.
A physical Nut economy where positioning, collection routes, and logistics matter.
Flux Construction Apps and fusion roles including Steed, Sharpshooter, and Voltair.
Forge conveyor routes, factories, the Furnace, and a four-toy workforce.
Shade stealth, social engineering, and control tools that turn enemy systems into attack surfaces.
Multi-height 2D maps with elevators, platforms, drones, belts, and side-scrolling combat.
Skirmishes against AI commanders on official or custom maps.
Three asymmetric species campaigns across Flux, Forge, and Shade.
Nut prices, ads and paid-service parody in the game are in-world satire, not real-money purchases.
