Cops, cars and the open road
EA's arcade racing line began in 1994 with Road & Track-backed supercars on the 3DO, then moved through police chases, tuner culture and open cities across three decades.
One world. Many eras.
Road & Track roots. EA Canada built the early games around supercars and scenic point-to-point runs. Hot Pursuit brought police chases to the fore, and Porsche Unleashed gave one marque a whole game.

Need for Speed keeps reinventing itself. Early games chased supercars and realism, Underground made street tuning the whole point, and Most Wanted fused it with police pursuits. Criterion and Ghost Games then took the wheel, pushing the series into connected open worlds.
