This is the fourth as well as the final game of the Gensou Shoujou Taisen series. The fourth part retells the story of Undefined Fantastic Object (Touhou 12), Mystic Square (Touhou 5), and an original arc loosely based on Yumetagae Kagaku Seiki - Changeability of Strange Dream, a doujin album by Team Shanghai Alice which was released on 2004.

The third part of Fantasy Maiden Wars, it is based on Imperishable Night (Touhou 8), Silent Sinner in Blue (a manga spinoff) and Subterranean Animism (Touhou 11)

The second game in the Gensou Shoujo Taisen series after Kou, the overarching story is based on the plots of Mountain of Faith (A.K.A Touhou 10), Immaterial and Missing Power ( Touhou 7.5) and Perfect Cherry Blossom (Touhou 7) in that order. Player can transfer save data from the previous game allowing player to retain items, upgrades, and database information as well as gain some bonuses.

The first part of the Touhou fangame series: "Gensou Shoujou Taisen", based on Strategy RPG "Super Robot Wars" franchise. This game retells Embodiment of Scarlet Devil --the sixth Touhou mainline game-- with the trademark red mist acting in the beginning as the catalyst for plot development; however, there are surprisingly many plot twists, character developments and cameo guest appearances from other games as well as portraying a prologue to Mountain of Faith's story. Altogether, the storyline is beautiful and much more rich in drama compared to the original Embodiment of Scarlet Devil.

The Super Robot Wars-inspired Touhou Project crossover Gensou Shoujo Wars first launched on PC in 2010 and is now releasing on Nintendo Switch in 2021. The game, fusion of bullet hell and strategy RPG, “depicts a Gensokyo epic of overwhelming scale, including the bonds between characters, and a thorough arrangement of character backgrounds and stories from their original works.” It features over 70 playable characters, as well as “impactful battle animations, dialogue scenes the fans want to see, cut-ins for every character, different theme songs for each character, and a variety of songs to match the scenario.”
