Great but terrible network code
I actually like this game despite my negative rating of the game play. The Single player is fun but a real challenge for someone as awful as me. The Co op is why I bought the game though and on the rare occasion that I get connected with my buddy, it is really good fun. The problem is the hit and miss nature of getting connected. Player 1 hosts the lobby. Player 2 joins lobby though either an invite or the lobby screen. Player two cannot join because player two is already in the lobby. But player 2 is not. Keep trying and eventually get connected to the same lobby only for it to crash half the time. Get past all that and 20 mins later you are sat in the same lobby together. Ready up... Game unreadies Ready! Not ready Ready Not Ready In the unlikely event you both manage to get ready at the same time Player 1 can hit Battle and if the planets are aligned load the game and then Player 2 enters the game. If the stars are aligned and you are in credit with Crom you'll get a game. More likely it will crash with your defeat before you even lay a building. Oh and incidentally the music is ripped straight from Conan Exiles. Not a bad thing considering the music is good but just worth noting. Originally published on 25 August 2020.

Let's Plunder
This version of Call of Duty is not a re-run of the original Modern Warfare but is a reboot to reset the timeline, at least that’s how it feels for me. The original MW was brilliant in its time, and this version re-invigorates an aging series that had become stale for me. The story is interesting and in true CoD fashion tries to throw in some shocks but they are always there so it is less of a surprise. It was a shame not having Billy Murray back in the voice of Captain Price and this irked me to begin with but once I got over that I thought Barry Sloane did a good job. So I enjoyed the story but the co-op stuff is what I really like in this series. MW2 brought in the Spec Ops and that was wonderful to play with a mate. This new Call of Duty has a Co-op mode which has many options but boy, is it hard… or maybe I’m just not very good! I’ve only played a little of the Multiplayer beyond Co-op until the release of Warzone and Plunder mode. In this Battle-royal variation you drop in with a squad of up to 3 in total and ‘plunder’ as much cash as you can, extracting $$ when you can or losing half when you get killed. Of course, you can kill others and take half of their stash too. I don’t know why but this mode is really good fun to play and I really like the fact that you are not out when you die, you respawn and try and get your cash back or support your team… or both.
