Before you press start
There is no story order here. Each release is a stand-alone season, so the newest is the natural start. Older entries are worth playing for a favourite era or roster.
More than the main path
The Madden NFL name arrived with the NFL licence in 1993, and EA's Tiburon studio has built the series since Madden NFL 97. Each year brings updated rosters and new modes. An arcade cabinet from Global VR even took it into the coin-op world in 2004.

When the credits roll
Madden NFL 96 is one of the earlier games in the long lasting franchise. It is the first to include a create-a-player feature that had the player preform mini games similar to real NFL drills. With 28 NFL teams and many more secret historic teams, Real NFL players, and the iconic NFL on Fox music theme, Madden 96 offered an authentic experience for fans of the sport.
