Style is the whole point
Capcom's demon-hunting action series began in 2001 as a Resident Evil 4 prototype that went its own way. Hideki Kamiya's game put Dante, combos and style ranks at its heart.
One world. Many eras.
Dante's rise. Kamiya set the template, then Hideaki Itsuno took over from the second game. Devil May Cry 3 rewound to a younger Dante, and 4 introduced Nero.

A legacy worth revisiting
Kamiya's team was building a new Resident Evil when the prototype strayed too far from the formula. It became its own game instead. Dante's sword, guns and attitude set the tone, and every entry since has judged how well you fight, not just whether you win.
