Slingshots, pigs, falling towers
Rovio's slingshot puzzler launched on iOS in 2009, pitting furious birds against scheming pigs. It grew into a long line of sequels, tie-ins and spin-offs across mobile and beyond.
One world. Many eras.
The slingshot boom. The 2009 original turned a simple physics puzzle into a mobile fixture. Seasons, Rio, Space and Star Wars followed quickly, while Bad Piggies flipped the view to the pigs.

Fling first, ask questions laterAngry BirdsThe core Angry Birds line, from Rovio's 2009 iOS debut through Seasons, Space and Angry Birds 2, keeps to one idea: launch birds at pig forts and let physics do the rest.Angry Birds Star WarsRovio's Angry Birds crossed with Star Wars, with the birds and pigs cast as the heroes and villains. The first game came out in 2012 and a sequel in 2013.
A legacy worth revisiting
Angry Birds built a franchise from one tactile idea: fling a bird and watch a wobbly pig fort collapse. Rovio stretched it to Space, Star Wars and the vehicle-building Bad Piggies, and Sega has owned Rovio since 2023.
