V-Ball - Beach Volley Heroes is the sequel to the NES game Super Spike V'Ball, an arcade game that deals with beach volleyball in a very special way. There are several teams you can choose from, such as Soldiers, Ninjas, Soccer players and so on, and each of them has got its own moves and special effects. There are commands for both heavy shots and for light ones, making you choose the strength to hit and throw the ball. There are no power bars and once hit, the ball flies to the opposing side automatically. The special moves can be triggered whenever you push certain button combinations (triangle and circle, circle and cross, etc) at the right moment. If it is a defense move, for instance, you must do it in response to others attacks. There is a Tournament mode, which is the main solo entertainment (although you can also play single matches vs the AI), but this game is clearly designed around player-vs-player mode, for arcade matches against human opponents.

Adventurers come across an ancient lithograph during their travels, supposedly very valuable, and desire to verify the authenticity of this artifact. To do so, the adventurers dive into more dungeons to collect magical gems which in legend fit into the inset of the lithograph. The lithograph united with these magical gems is said to impart great power to the wielders of this artifact, and if the adventurers do receive great power due to reuniting these treasures it will serve as proof to them that they have found the legendary artifact of lore.

The game doesn't have a story, you just select a mission that you can afford (you get money from completing missions), kill everyone/everything in it and continue to the next mission. The engine uses voxels, so you can blast the ground with few different weapons, like flamethrower, chaingun, grenade launcher and rocker launcher. Picking up powerups for yourself and your vehicle ease your way on the devastation.

Ascendancy is similar to, but nevertheless very different from, Master of Orion. You play one of many races, each with a special ability and special character traits, who set off to explore space, erect colonies (which can each have individual purposes, depending on their raw materials) and engage in battles when you clash with others who have the same goals. Weapons on the ships use power, which has to be supplied somehow. This game introduces many original concepts, such as the Research Tree - a special scientific display in which discoveries are depicted as icons connected by lines to the "parent" technological breakthroughs and "child" ones, similar to the technology advances in Civilization, but presented in a much more visual way.

This is a side scrolling game where you control a cute little penguin. You have to jump over holes and not get hit by balls.

Released by Funsoft as Time Runner in North America and by WizardSoft as Blade Runner in Italy, this Amidar style action game was created by Scott Maxwell & Troy Lyndon. Time Runner is a game in which you move your character along a pellet grid, which changes from level to level, while you collect points and avoid enemy characters. The goal is to, similar to PacMan, cover the entire board and fill-in each rectangular area, which will then become colored in. Time Runner was first developed on the Atari 800 and later converted to the Commodore-64.
